Project Description
This was an unusual design that you don’t typically see made and we don’t normally do many of these! However, this unique design was created with specific goal in mind. The idea of this project was to allow sunlight into the back room of the clients’ house during winter, and to block out the hot sun in the summer months.
13 Degree Pitch
The 13 degree angled pitch was worked out to factor in exactly where the sun would be located throughout the year, to make sure the back of the house stayed cool in summer, and warm in winter.
The pitch was designed as a result of the detailed measurements that we did to locate the different heights of the sun during the winter and summers to allow for maximum sun penetration in winter and minimise the sun during the summer months.
This verandah also features twin wall polycarbonate infills. Take a look at the finished project!
